Continue reading Saturdays with the Pain and the Great One by Judy Blume and use details about the Pain and the Great One’s relationship to revise and improve your prediction about what might happen.

As students read, they can write questions about the characters and plot such as, “I wonder what will happen to . . .” Use these questions to write predictions.

Predict what will happen to characters “beyond the text.” Write a new story using the same characters. The characters’ actions should be based on evidence in the original text.
