High interest passage! The students were really engaged while we were reading it aloud in class and it lent itself to some interesting discussions.

Great story and suggestions.

I had my students write a part two, and I recommend you do the same if your class shows an interest.

Awesome idea

Thanks that is a great idea to see the student's creativty.

Like others have said, there should be a second part to this. I had several students show an interest in the passage, which is a first in quite a while. Several students were very eager to find out what happens next.

Is there going to be a next chapter? My students want to keep reading. That is awesome!!!!!!

Great passage...My 8th Grade students loved it! There is so much you an do with this passage. Students can use Characterization to identify the 2 main characters as well.

WOW! Ya'll have it all, grade level, skills tested, etc. Thanks.

Can't wait to try this lesson.

Love the passages. Especially being able to chose from the various lexile levels.

great!

My students like it very much.

This is a great passage and my students couldn't get enough it. They kept asking what book it came from or if there was a part 2 so they could keep reading. It's so rare that students, especially boys, really love a text!

This will be very helpful to me as I plan my lessons and assessments.

Great reading passages.
