I am having so much fun this year using the paired texts! The questions are implicit and explicit in nature plus can be combined into multi-skills on one assessment or strictly based on an individual skill. Students are required to complete constructed response questions that are text dependent AND paired which makes the DOK levels appropriate. The students with exceptionalities use this weekly as I incorporate it into content-based standards and they seem to understand what is being asked. It takes time for an educator to teach how to answer the questions with the paired text at a higher level but once specialized instruction has been delivered students can readily latch on with great academic success. Thank you for providing these and continue to add new texts.
