Dorothea Dix worked to improve care for people who suffered from mental illnesses.
Dorothea Dix was a reformer who tried to help people who had mental illnesses. She worked very hard to get treatment for people with mental health problems. She believed that other people would help too if they only knew about the sad conditions in which these people lived....
